ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has imposed Rs10.7 million fine on 12 oil marketing companies (OMC) for over-charging.
According to Ogra officials, over-charging of 1 to 8 rupees was observed in the oil and diesel prices during the crisis, while 75 petrol pumps of 12 companies charged extra money from the public during the same period. As many as 12 companies involved in over-charging include PSO, Total Parco and Attock Petroleum, Hescol, Shell, Baiko, Bakri and others.
The Ogra officials said that the answers of the show-cause notices submitted by the oil marketing companies were unsatisfactory and directed all the companies to pay their fines by August 27.
