Oil dropped to $47.45/b: Govt not decreasing petrol prices as per int’l market, says Khursheed

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said that the government has not decreases the prices of petroleum products as per the international market, besides failing in supplying gas, electricity and petrol to the people.

He revealed that he had already warned the government about the petrol crisis but the government did not pay attention.

Oil prices in international market have dropped by more than half since June as WTI Crude Oil has dropped to $47.45 and Brent Crude Oil to $48.78.

Shah said that the government was insensitive to the problems of the people and this was not a good sign for democracy in Pakistan. “The PPP will go all out against the government if democracy and people’s rights are threatened due to inefficiency and undemocratic manoeuvres,” he warned.

He said a common man was the big sufferer of this crisis created by the negligence of the government and the PPP had demanded of the government to take immediate measures for an adequate supply of petrol and energy within the minimum possible time.
