Oil tanker & vehicle loaded with smuggled items worth Rs12m impounded

QUETTA: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Quetta took into possession smuggled goods worth Rs8.5million alognwith an offending vehicle valued at Rs4million. The total amount of the impounded items and a vehicle is Rs12million.

The goods confiscated include tiles, motor oil, plastic powder, Iranian origin smuggled diesel, milk power, glasswares, betel nuts , blankets and almond without shell. The items were seized by customs authorities at three customs stations including Surab, Lakpass and Baleli.

A passenger bus loaded with the contraband goods coming from Panjgur to Karachi was impounded whereas a Toyota Surf was also taken into possession which was carrying foreign origin diesel. The FBR appreciated the efforts of the anti-smuggling wings of the customs in fighting organized crimes through effective initiatives including improvement of staff capacity , check-posts and mobile squads, said Head of the Model Customs Collector Quetta, Ashraf Ali, in Quetta.

Additional Collector Zubair Shah, Deputy Collector Preventive Maqbool Baloch, Maqsood Durrani Supt (Preventive), Inspectors Ahmed Nawaz Zehri , Naseer Shaheen , Muhammad Shabir Khan, Muhammad Saleem Shah, Ghulam Hussain Khoso, Asghar Kakar, Mir Qalam, Shaukat Ali, Abdul Ghafoor and Qurban Hussain and other staff participated in the execution of the action.
