MUSCAT: The value of exports from Oman to the UK almost doubled in 2014, according to latest statistics.
Oman Observer reports that the value of exports to the UK rose 95 percent during 2014, to $347 million, up from $177 million the previous year. The value of imports from the UK during 2014 dropped by one percent, to $842 million, which has risen from $410 million in 2007.
Britain’s Ambassador to the Sultanate said that while the UK share of the import market was lower than previous years, the volume of trade has grown.
Wilks said the foreign direct investment (FDI) into from the UK had increased, and represented 46 per cent of Oman’s FDI.
