MUSCAT: Oman and the Netherlands can cooperate on brining innovation to various sectors, which will help develop the economy and create jobs, said Dutch officials ahead of the Business Innovation Forum to be held in Muscat in March.
“We very much believe that innovation is not something that you do in abstract, that is just academic exercise, but innovation needs to be applied to business and to practical solutions,” Renee Bos-Jones, secretary general, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands, told a press conference in Muscat on Tuesday.
The media briefing was held at the Dutch embassy to discuss the innovation forum, which the embassy plans to hold in cooperation with the Omani government and the Dutch Regional Economic Network in the Gulf and in collaboration with Al Nimr Conferences on March 7 and 8.
The forum, which will take place at InterContinental Hotel Muscat, will gather primarily Omani and Dutch entrepreneurs, government officials and researchers in the fields of logistics and maritime but will also have great relevance to others engaged in innovation more generally, according to the organisers.
