MUSCAT: Oman’s MSM30 Index down 0.91 percent to closed at 6,462.04 points yesterday and MSM Sharia index also down by 0.19 percent to end at 991.33 points.
Gulf International Chemicals was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Gulf Stones, up by 9.76 per cent, while Al Batinah Development, down by 5.35 per cent, was the top loser of the day.
A total number of 1,472 trades were executed during the day’s trading session generating turnover of OMR7.02 million with more than 24.94 million shares changing hands. Out of 45 traded stocks, six advanced, 22 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors remained net buyers for OMR714,000 while GCC & Arab Investors were net sellers for OMR415,000 followed by Foreign Investors for OMR299,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index declined strongly to close at 8,002.14 points, down by 1.39 per cent. Gulf Investment Services, up by 3.13 per cent, was only sector gainer. Al Batinah Devlopment, NBO, Al Anwar Holding, Global Financial Investment and Bank Sohar declined by 5.35 per cent, 3.41 per cent, 2.85 per cent, 2.78 per cent and 2.44 per cent respectively.
