Oman’s MSM30 index close at 6,429.05pts with 0.07% rise

MUSCAT: MSM 30 index ended on a flat note to close at 6,429.05 points, up by 0.07 per cent. The MSM Shariah Index increased 0.10 per cent to close at 993.52 points.

Phoenix Power remained the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. The top gainer was HSBC Bank Oman, up by 2.26 per cent, while OIFC which decliend by 9.75 per cent, was the top loser.

As many as 1,214 trades were executed in the day’s session generating a turnover of OMR3.23 million with over 14.4 million shares changing hands. Out of 42 traded securities, 13 advanced, 10 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the close of the session, foreign investors were net buyers to the tune of OMR273,000 while GCC and Arab Investors were net sellers at OMR273,000 followed by Omani investors, who sold shares amounting to OMR51,000..

Financial Index increased 0.07 per cent and closed at 7,740.25 points. HSBC Bank Oman, United Finance, Oman& Emirates and Bank Sohar increased by 2.26 per cent, 1.37 per cent, 0.86 per cent and 0.54 per cent respectively. Oman Takaful, Al Madina Investment , Al Madina Takaful and Gulf Investment Services declined by 8.40 per cent, 1.41 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 0.74 per cent respectively.

Industrial Index was marginally up by 0.02 per cent to finish at 8,331.14 points. Oman Fisheries, Gulf International Chemicals and Oman Cables increased by 1.85 per cent, 1.74 per cent and 1.32 per cent respectively. Al Anwar Ceramic and Al Hassan Engineering declined by 1.40 per cent and 1.02 per cent respectively.

Services Sector Index closed at 3,452.86 points, down by 0.44%. Renaissance Services and Oredoo Oman increased by 1.07 per cent and 0.52 per cent respectively. OIFC, National Gas, Al Suwadi Power and Al Batinah Power declined by 9.75 per cent,1.13 per cent , 1.01 per cent and 0.51 per cent respectively.
