Oman’s MSM30 Index down 0.05% on vigilant trading

MUSCAT: Oman’s MSM30 Index down by 0.05 percent to closed at 6,566.57 points and MSM Sharia Index slightly up by 0.01 percent to close at 997.28 points.

As many as 1,216 trades were executed during the day’s trading session generating turnover of OMR5.93 million with more than 16.98 million shares changing hands. Out of 51 traded stocks, four advanced, 17 declined and 30 remained unchanged. GCC and Arab investors switched to net buyers for OMR883, 000 while Omani Investors switched to net sellers for OMR803,000 followed by Foreign Investors for OMR81,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index ended the day at 8,206.49 points, down by 0.16 per cent. Al Anwar Holding was the only gainer and was up by 0.35 per cent to close at OMR0.284. Gulf Investment Services, Al Batinah Development, Al Madina Takaful and Al Sharqiya Investment declined by 2.92 per cent, 1.17 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 1.11 per cent respectively.

Industrial Index was down by 0.26 per cent to close at 8,689.43 points.  Oman Cables was the only gainer and was up by 0.50 per cent to close at OMR2.005. Dhofar Cattlefeed, Galfar Engineering, Al Jazeera Steel Product, and Al Maha Ceramics declined by 2.70 per cent, 2.53 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively.

Services Sector Index closed at 3,548.52 points, down by 0.10 per cent. Oredoo Oman was the only gainer and was up by 0.56 per cent to close at OMR0.724.
