MUSCAT: Large trades on Bank Muscat Compulsorily Convertible Bonds 3.5, interest in holding companies and pressure on Renaissance Services headlined trading on Wednesday.
The MSM30 index closed down 0.39 per cent at 6,468.52 while the MSM Shariah index closed unchanged.
Market volume and turnover rose 38.27 per cent and 43.98 per cent to 30.6mn shares and RO5.5mn, respectively.
The Financial sub-index dropped 0.35 per cent to 7,895.12 while the Services gauge lost 0.49 per cent to 3,497.86. The Industrial index remained stable. While six stocks closed higher, 20 declined and 16 remained unchanged.
Top gainers included Al Maha Ceramics (+2.93 per cent), Al Anwar Holdings (+1.89 per cent) and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles (+0.93 per cent) while Renaissance Services (-4.19 per cent),Construction Materials Ind (-2.44 per cent) and alizz islamic bank (-2.44%) lost the most.
