MUSCAT: Oman’s MSM30 Index advanced 0.33 percent to close at 6,350.79 points. MSM Sharia Index closed at 962.83 points, up by 0.42 percent. Al Anwar Holding was most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. The top gainer was OIFC, up by 2.99 percent while Oman Fisheries, down by 1.64 percent, was the top loser for the day.
A total number of 824 trades were executed during the day’s trading session generating turnover of OMR3.70 million with more than 12.4 million shares changing hands. Out of 47 traded securities, 19 advanced, eight declined and 20 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani Investors were net buyers for OMR852,000 while Foreign Investors were net sellers for OMR853,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index increased 0.42 percent and closed at 7,889.29 points. Oman United Insurance, United Finance, Al Madina Takaful, Takaful Oman and ONIC Holding increased 2.58 percent, 2.46 percent, 2.27 percent, 1.85 percent and 1.72 percent respectively. Global Financial Investment, Oman & Emirates Holding, Al Batinah Development and Al Sharqia Investments declined 0.84 per cent, 0.83 percent, 0.69 percent and 0.64 percent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 8,296.60 points. Al Hassan Engineering, Oman Cement, Al Anwar Ceramics, Voltamp Energy and Oman Cables increased 1.71 percent, 1.66 percent, 1.53 percent, 1.49 percent and 1.30 percent respectively. Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering declined 1.64 percent and 0.75 percent respectively.
