NEW DELHI: OnePlus One has introduced its ‘flagship killer’ smartphone for Rs 19998 in its 64GB sandstone black version. Until now, the handset had been selling exclusively via Amazon India. OnePlus has followed in the footsteps of Xiaomi which decided to end its devices online through Amazon and Snapdeal too, instead of forcing fans to shop via Flipkart for its products.
But the OnePlus One is still missing out on potential buyers who’d prefer to get a feel of the phone before shelling out the cash for it. Xiaomi has gone offline through Airtel and The Mobile Store. Mobile manufacturers who choose to go online and wholly ignore brick-and-mortar stores are currently facing the ire of owners of retail outlets who miss out on the opportunity of hawking these devices to customers.
Following a global reduction in the price of the OnePlus One, Flipkart is selling the smartphone at the same rate as Amazon. The former retailer kicked off sales of the device along with its ‘Big App Shopping Days’ festival which is scheduled for June 22 to June 24. You’ll have to download the company’s app in order to participate, a move that is intended to help it on its way to going mobile-only, just like Myntra.
