NEW DELHI: OnePlus One Smartphone gets a special Rs 2000 discount on Amazon.co.in and now the phone will cost Rs 19,998. OnePlus has also launched a Bamboo StyleSwap Cover for the device which costs Rs 1,499 on Amazon. More recently, OnePlus had announced an industry-first ‘extended warranty’ service for its Smartphone users in India. As par t of this initiative, all service related issues till date and henceforth pending for more than 15 working days at service centres will automatically get a 3 months extended warranty.

This service will be applicable on the OnePlus One and all future Smartphones. All Indian users who purchased the One from oneplus.net prior to the India launch will also be eligible for this service. OnePlus One features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920x1080p, 401 PPI) LTPS IPS with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.5GHz Quad-core with 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, no external slot. The camera is 13MP rear camera with a 5MP front camera and there is support for 4K video recording with slow-motion. The OnePlus One has a 3100 mAh battery and this is a 4G Smartphone with Nano and micro SIM trays in box. It runs Cyanogen 11S OS based on Android 4.4. Of course while the OnePlus One has gotten a price cut a lot of fans are waiting for the next flagship killer from the company, the OnePlus Two Smartphone. OnePlus One also confirmed in a recent blogpost that the next phone will come with the Snapdragon 810 chip specifically engineered for the phone. However that has raised concerns among users about its performance given how 810 have caused serious heating issues in the past. OnePlus wrote on their blog, “OnePlus 2 will come loaded with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor, engineered for OnePlus and our next generation flagship phone.” OnePlus insists that the chip will be perfect for multi-tasking, better camera speed, battery life, LTE and more. The company went on to address the heating concerns and said, “Although there have been reports that the 810 runs warmer than its predecessors, we assure you that we have taken all the necessary precautions and beyond to prevent this from occurring in the 2. We worked very closely with Qualcomm’s engineers to integrate an improved version of the chipset (v2.1) in the OnePlus 2, and fine-tuned both hardware and software.” While the wait for OnePlus Two continues, the pricing and specs of the OnePlus One make it sound like a good deal.
