KARACHI: There are only two cameras installed on the premises of the Jinnah International Airport that needs to be enhanced, sources said.
One camera is installed at the arrival gate and the other at the departure, however, the rest of the airport area is without any watching instrument.
The issue surfaced after a passenger went missing from the premises of the airport and his whereabouts could not be ascertained by the authorities deployed at the airport, sources told Customs Today.
In this regard, IT Head of Karachi Airport Zaigham Abbas told the Sindh High Court a few days ago that there were only two cameras. However, these cameras do not have any backup or recording system.
After hearing such revelation, the SHC sought all the record of the cameras installed at airport and the company engaged in the process, sources concluded.
