Operation launched against property tax defaulters

RAWALPINDI: Excise and taxation Department has launched an operation against 5000 property tax defaulters in Rawalpindi.

To this effect, the city has been divided into 25 circles and on everyday basis 30 to 35 commercial and residential properties are being sealed. The ratio of recovery ranges from Rs 0.3 to 0.4 million.

An official of the department concerned said that in Rawalpindi city alone 5000 property tax defaulters exist who owe millions of rupees in tax to the country. Defaulters will be brought into the tax net for which special teams have already been constituted, he added.
