Out of 211, 16th and 19th position secured: SDPI, PIIA among world’s top 20 think tanks

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s two thin tanks, Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) and Pakistan Institute of International Affairs, have secured the position in top 20 think tanks of the world.

The Pakistani think tanks clinched the positions in ranking of ‘2014 Global Go-to Think-Tank Index’.

From South Asia, 192 think-tanks from India and 19 from Pakistan were included in the index however, among these 211 only two Pakistani think-tanks had the distinction of being in the top 20. Pakistan Institute of International Affairs was at 16 while SDPI was at number 19.

Area of focus of Pakistan Institute of International Affairs is totally the foreign policies of regional and other countries. It hits the changing political policies in scenario of geo-political circumstances.

Whereas SPDI provides the global sustainable development community with representation from Pakistan as well as South Asia as a whole.
