WARSAW: Roughly 70 percent of Poles expressed their objection against adoption of the euro, according to a survey conducted by CBOS. While 70 percent of respondents do not want the euro in Poland, 25 percent of them are for the adoption.
“The number of people reluctant to the introduction of the euro is increasing – the percentage of opponents is the highest in history,” CBOS report read. The highest popular support for the euro adoption was recorded in January 2002 and stood at 62 percent. The survey conducted by the European Commission in April showed that 53 percent of the respondents were against euro adoption, while 44 percent voted for.
