LAHORE: An amount of Rs19.082 million out of total allocation of Rs41. 359 million has been approved for 205 beneficiaries of the provincial capital in the 1st phase of Self Rozgar Scheme, launched by the Punjab government.
According to an official press release, the Nur Foundation/Fatima Memorial Trust has assisted PVTC in selecting and training of beneficiaries. Self Rozgar Scheme is extensively contributing towards the poverty alleviation through skills training to deserving youth specially Mustahaqeen-e-Zakat at their doorstep, involving private sector to enhance employability and assist the graduates in their placement for permanent rehabilitation and arranging financial support for their self-employment from micro finance institutions and NGOs.
Self Rozgar Scheme is an initiative of government of Punjab that envisages providing financial assistance to graduates of Punjab Vocational Training Council for their permanent rehabilitation.
In the pilot phase, this program has been started in 6 districts of Punjab i.e. Sheikhupura, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, D.G Khan, Attock and Lahore.
Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, MNA and Chairman Public Affairs Committee, Punjab will inaugurate the launching ceremony of Self Rozgar Scheme on Wednesday (today) at 90-Shahrah Quaid-e-Azam, Lahore. Five beneficiaries from each district will be invited to receive the cheques.
