PAC orders Petroleum Ministry to submit report on Rs124b oil theft from PARCO

ISLAMABAD: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has ordered the Petroleum Ministry to submit a report on Rs124 billion oil theft from PARCO Muzzafargaarh. The committee meeting took place in Parliament House under Chairmanship of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah.
The PAC also discussed the issue of oil robbery of Rs124 billion from PARCO and criticised the role of officials of Petroleum Ministry. Mian Abdul Manan said that it was more than Rs1,000 billion robbery but the relevant ministry did not play an active role for bringing to book the culprits.
Additional Secretary Petroleum Arshad Mirza informed the committee that ministry was investigating the matter and company had also ordered the inquiry and few people were arrested and investigation is underway.

The officials of ministry took two-week time and said that they would brief the committee in detail in next 15 days over the issue.
