PAJCCI organizes Cross Border and B2B Exhibition to strengthen trade ties

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PAJCCI) organized the Cross Border B2B and Small Scale Exhibition to strengthen business ties between the two countries.

The Afghan delegation and executive committee of both the chapters also visited the exhibition. Custom agent association president and PAJCCI Vice-president Ziaul Haq Sarhadi told Customs Today that the PAJCCI as part of its legacy intended to enhance and rejuvenate business ties between the two countries in specific and within the region in general.

He said the PAJCCI wanted to conduct several activities to help re-establish confidence building measures. Zia Sarhadi added that the Afghan delegation attended the ‘Cross-Border B2B and Small Scale Exhibit held in Karachi, which is the first in its series planned for the year 2016-17.The event, he said, was held in collaboration with the Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE).

He said that SITE members were also doing businesses with Afghanistan whereby both quality and prices offered by the members were incomparable and would significantly add value to the exchange.

Zia Sarhadi stated that the PAJCCI was determined to rejuvenate business ties between the two countries and conduct several activities to help re-establish confidence building measures and this Cross-border B2B activity was first of such measures.He said the PAJCCI would hold two stakeholder regional meetings in Dushanbe and Tashkent in the upcoming quarter to enhance regional integration.

Haji Rahimuddin, head of Afghan delegation, Zia Sarhadi, informed, raised the issues pertaining to the border tensions, roadblocks, visa issuance matters that have reflected badly on Pak-Afghan relations.
