KARACHI: Due to unusual attitude of Afghanistan over the Afghan Transit Trade Agreement (ATTA), the government is considering excluding Kabul from the pact signed between the two countries.
According to the sources in Directorate General of the Afghan Transit Trade, Afghanistan had agreed with Pakistan for including the other Central Asian countries in the Afghan Transit Trade Agreement (ATTA) to widen the trade activities but Afghanistan is continuously asking Pakistan to include India in the pact and Afghan Transit Trade through Wagha border checkpoint.
The 11th Joint Economic Commission meeting which was to be held in Kabul in March is also in doldrums as Pakistan is not willing to include India in the deal, sources said.
India being the sixth largest donor to Afghanistan providing the country with some $2 billion in aid since 2001 has built up pressure for its desire to be included in Afghan Transit Trade Agreement (ATTA).
