KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Pakistan Customs, has finalized the operation meant for clearance of the imported consignments through Electronic Import Form (EIF)
Following the SBP’s notification No F.E 1/2016-SB dated 26-07-2016 and F.E Circular No 05 dated 09-08-2016, Electronic Import Form (EIF) module has been rolled out.
According to the notification, the first stage was roll out on 15-08-2016 which would enable the importers to file Electronic Import Form (EIF) request to a bank and seek approval.
On the other hand, the second stage deployment by 10-09-2016 encompassed mandatory attachment of Electronic Import Form (EIF) which the goods declaration along with components of the Electronic Import Form (EIF) modules, issuance of Bank Debit Advice (BDA) and statements.
The notification further stated that GD type VB, TP, transit, defence importers, privileged, courier, ex bond and imports falling under PCT codes 9901, 9902, 9903, 9905, 9908, 9910, 9911, 9916 shall not require attachment of Electronic Import Form (EIF) at the same time of GD filling in WeBOC.
In one customs, the system shall not require Electronic Import Form (EIF) for GD type of TP, AT, baggage and un accompanied baggage, defence embarkation, ex, EB, EPZA and imports falling under section 22 of the Customs Act, 1969 and PCT codes 9901, 9902, 9903, 9905, 9908, 9909, 9910, 9911, 9913, as well as 9916.
