Pak Rupee falls by 29 paisa against USD

KARACHI: The exchange rate of US Dollar increased by 29 paisa in the interbank on Tuesday against Pakistani rupee.

The greenback closed at Rs152.89 on second business day of the week compared to previous closing of 152.60.

However, since start of May, dollar has declined by 47 paisa or 0.3 percent. The greenback has lost 15.54 rupees or 9.67 percent of its value from its peak of 168.43 in August 2020.

Meanwhile, the price of euro appreciated by Rs1.49 and closed at Rs186.80 against the last working day’s trading of Rs185.31, the State Bank of Pakistan reported.

The Japanese Yen closed at Rs1.4, whereas an increase of Rs2.22 was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs217.4 as compared to its last closing of Rs215.18.

The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by about 8 paisa each to close at Rs41.62 and Rs40.77 respectively.
