Pak Rupee falls by 33 paisa against USD

KARACHI: The exchange rate of US Dollar increased by 33 paisa in the interbank on Wednesday against Pakistani rupee.

The greenback closed at Rs153.22 on third business day of the week compared to previous closing of 152.89.

However, since start of May, dollar has declined by 14 paisa. The greenback has lost 15.21 rupees or 9.46 percent of its value from its peak of 168.43 in August 2020.

Meanwhile, the price of euro appreciated by 45 paisa and closed at Rs187.25 against the last working day’s trading of Rs186.80, the State Bank of Pakistan reported.

The Japanese Yen closed at Rs1.4, whereas decrease of 5 paisa was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs217.35 as compared to its last closing of Rs217.4.

The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by about 9 paisa each to close at Rs41.71 and Rs40.86 respectively.
