LAHORE: Pakistani transports, including trailers and heavy transporters and drivers, observed strike against India on Friday. The protesters blocked the GT Road and protested against India. They were chanting slogans against the Indian government, Indian Customs and Indian Army as well.
The protest was staged by the drivers and transporters of Pakistan to show solidarity with a Pakistani driver who was arrested by the Indian police two months ago on the charges of killing an Indian laborer in a road accident at the Attari station near Wagha. According to details, the Pakistani driver carried a trailer of gypsum to India, and during unloading of the consignment, an Indian laborer died there.
Now, the Indian court has granted him bail but he is still in Indian police custody. The protesters said that the Indian Customs is involved delaying the release of the Pakistani driver. The protesters chanted slogans against the Indian Customs and demanded to free their colleague as soon as possible. The protesters demand the government to take notice of the illegal detention of the Pakistani driver by Indian police and ensure his return to his homeland as soon as possible.
