KARACHI: Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to resolve all transit trade issues by dialogue to avoid delay in clearance of consignments and overloaded conditions in future.
According to source, the political and military leadership of Afghanistan is in contact with the Pakistani authorities and both sides are agreed to resolve border related issues to ensure uninterrupted trade across the borders.
On a major shift to strengthen brotherly relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan and with a strategic intent to improve border management purpose, Pakistan has handed over the Angoor Adda crossing facility to Afghan authorities.
This gesture will not only act as a catalyst and is envisioned to bring momentum for establishing peace and stability along the Pak Afghan border but will also give a room to the both countries to boost trade relations, source added.
It was reiterated during the process, that all border related issues will be amicably resolved through mutual consultations subsequently. The source also informed that in recent tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan that lead towards the closure of the Torkhum border cost more than $10 million loss to the traders.
