ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Azerbaijan have agreed to increase bilateral trade and investment from $100 million to $2 billion. The two countries signed 15 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and agreements covering trade, tourism, minerals, science and technology, law and justice, and cultural exchange programs.
These agreements are linked to the Prime Minister’s visit to Azerbaijan in November this year. The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) provided facilitation and a joint platform for the completion of these agreements.
The MoUs and agreements will be finalized during Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Pakistan. Both countries have shown interest in investing in petroleum and energy sectors as part of their bilateral trade.
These agreements are expected to be significant milestones in Pakistan’s economic development and will further promote cooperation and mutual brotherhood between the two countries.
