Pakistan Customs issues SOPs for examination of consignments

LAHORE: Pakistan Customs has issued standard operating procedures for the examination of consignments.

According to new SOPs, detailed examination of containers will be done in presence of ACD concerned. All the invoices found will be checked with the declared invoice value and, if any discrepancy found or detected, Assignment Alert will be granted and the invoice value should be clearly mentioned in Examination Report.

For the consignment consisting of more than 01, container-wise packing list of the whole consignment shall he submitted by the importer in the system. The ACD concerned may call examination of any container in addition to the one marked through system on random basis.

Furthermore, the pictures uploaded with the Examination Report should be clear and named according to item number and description of the goods. Proper vigilance would be carried by all ACDC examination concerned so as to thwart any attempt to mis-declaration by the importer through ports and terminals.
