Customs officials leave for India to attend 21st CLBC meeting

LAHORE: The Customs Central Region chief collector and collector of customs Lahore Preventive have left for Amritsar, India to attend 21st Customs Liaison Border Committee (CLBC), sources told Customs Today here.

The sources said that Chief Collector of Customs Rozi Khan Burki has led the delegation consisting of customs officials, including Collector of Customs Mukarram Jah Ansari, Additional Collector Sumera Sheikh and others. It was reported that the officials left for India along with their families.

It was added that the delegation will hold two days meeting of the committee and review the trade facilitation matters and will return to Pakistan on February 3. Previously, the 20th CLBC meeting was held at the Customs House Lahore

Chief collector of Customs Rozi Khan Burki, Collector of Customs Lahore Preventive Mukarram Jah Ansari, Additional collector Jamil Nasir, Deputy Collector of Customs Iram Sohail and DC Nazima Salim from Pakistan Customs while Commissioner Captain Sanjay Gahlot, Additional Commissioner Nitin Saini, Deputy Commissioner Paramavtar Singh Gill, Assistant Commissioner Jasmeet Singh and Assistant Director Jasveer Khichar will attend the CLBC meeting from Indian side of the Customs.

According to customs officials the CLBC meeting provides the customs authorities of the both sides an opportunity to streamline things ahead of the high season besides train, bus and on-foot traffic issues are also discussed to speed up customs clearance.
