Pakistan Customs to deploy teams on 7 bordering areas to curb money laundering, smuggling

KARACHI: Pakistan Customs has now spread its security blanket to the bordering areas of the country to root out the menace of money laundering.

According to the details, the operations wing of the Pakistan Customs has constituted seven teams which will be deployed on the exit and entry points of the bordering areas of the country to stop the leakage of money laundering and illegal trade.

In this regard, an order has also been issued from the office of the higher authorities to deploy Pakistan Customs teams at the Torkham, Ghulam Khan, Khralachi, Tank, Chamman, Taftan and Wagha entry and exit points of the bordering areas. The teams will be working on Directorate and Collectorate level.

Federal Investigation Agency, Counter Terrorism Department, Frontier Corps along with other law enforcement agencies will also be facilitating the officers of the Pakistan Customs against the heinous crime.

Pakistan Customs officers deployed at the bordering areas entry and exit points will be assigned to check and unearth the money laundering, illegal trade, shifting of currency along with smuggling activities.
