Pakistan Customs taking effective measures to curb smuggling: ADC Shafiq-ur-Rehman

MULTAN: Pakistan Customs is taking all possible measures to curb smuggling in the region while on the other hands Pakistan Customs is making all out efforts to promote and facilitate legitimate trade and business in country.

This was said by Additional Collector Shafiq-ur-Rehman during his visit to various departments of Multan Customs Enforcement & Compliance (E&C) Office. Newly transferred Additional Collector Shafiq-ur-Rehman paid first visit to various branches of Customs House including Anti-smuggling Organization, Accounts, Administration Branch, Statistics Branch, General Branch, Auction branch and others.

Additional Collector Shafiq-ur-Rehman inspected available facilities in the Collectorate and directed employees of various sections to retain proper facility in the Customs. He said that despite of COVID-19 and lockdown, Customs staff achieved its revenue collection target and would surpass annual target.

He said that Multan Customs is also playing an active role against smuggling. Despite shortage of resources, Multan Customs made significant progress against smuggling and seized smuggled goods worth billions of rupees. He appreciated the work of Collector Customs against immense smuggling.

Later, Additional Collector also visited the old building of Customs House for renovation. Assistant Collector Umer Sajjad along with other staffs was also present on the visit.
