Pakistan exported goods worth Rs.2,149,784 million in 1Q of FY2025-26

KARACHI:The exports from the country in rupee term reached to Rs.2,149,784 million during the first quarter (July-September) of the current fiscal year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics reported.

According to the provisional figures released by the bureau, the exports show 2.32 percent decrease during the period under review when compared to the exports of Rs.2,200,891 million during the corresponding period of last year.

On year-on-year (YoY) basis the exports during September 2025 decreased by 10.80 percent and were recorded at Rs.703,997 million compare to the exports of Rs. 789,220 million in September 2024-25.

On month-on-month (MoM) basis, the exports witnessed an increase of 3.04 percent when compared to the exports of Rs. 683,209 million in August, 2025.

The main commodities of exports during September, 2025 were knitwear (Rs. 130,989 million), readymade garments (Rs.92,702 million), bed wear (Rs. 80,975 million), cotton cloth (Rs. 42,261 million), towels (Rs.24,218 million), madeup articles, excluding towels & bedwear (Rs. 19,789 million), rice others (Rs. 17,813 million), cotton yarn (Rs.17,810 million), meat and meat preparations (Rs.12,770 million) and fish and fish preparations (Rs.12,190 million).

On the other hand, imports during July –September, 2025 (FY2025-26) totaled Rs. 4,818,758 million as against Rs. 4,169,585 million during the corresponding period of last year showing an increase of 15.57%.

Imports into Pakistan during September, 2025 amounted to Rs. 1,664,582 million as against Rs. 1,495,210 million in August, 2025 and Rs. 1,428,909 million during September, 2024 showing an increase of 11.33% over August, 2025 and of 16.49% over September, 2024.

Commodities of imports during September, 2025 were petroleum crude (Rs.152,734 million), petroleum products (Rs.114,414 million), palm oil (Rs. 101,743 million), electrical machinery & apparatus (Rs.74,285 million), plastic materials (Rs.66,535 million), iron and steel (Rs.61,661 million), natural gas liquified (LNG) (Rs.58,588 million), mobile phones (Rs.56,170 million), iron & steel scrap (Rs.50,097 million) and motor cars (ckd/skd) (Rs.43,098 million).
