LAHORE: Pakistan Flour Mills Association has urged the government to improve export of wheat products to facilitate farmers and also provide them subsidy on the agriculture machinery.
The association added that due to hindrances, 65 percent wheat products are not exported.
Punjab Chairman of the Pakistan Flour Mills Association Mian Iftekhar told Customs Today that high prices are affecting the export of wheat. He added that the rate of wheat in international market is $210 while in Pakistan it is $312.
He further said that Punjab Food Department has 4.7 million tones stock, Sindh has 1.5 million tons, PASSCO 1.5 million, KPK 0.3 million tons and Balochistan 0.15 millions stock. Viewing this stock, the government should give mark up on stocked wheat, he said.
