Pakistan-IMF talks will be held on May 3 in Dubai

ISLAMABAD: The eleventh round of talks between Pakistan and International Monetary Fund (IMF) will start from May 3 in Dubai.

Sources told Customs Today that these talks will be continued for over a week. During the meeting, the IMF officials will examine tax reforms, and different measures to improve the national economy. Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan will also take part in the negotiations and for this purpose he will arrive in Dubai on May 2.

He will also brief the IMF officials about different strategies of government to improve tax collection. Sources said that federal minister of finance Ishaq Dar will also participate in the final round of talks. Chairman FBR is expected to return Pakistan on May 11.

Sources said that government team is in much better condition as comare to previous meetings because government already going to launch a new airline in place of PIA while on the other hands IMF officials will pursue for expanding of tax net.
