ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said Pakistan is fully committed to strengthen bilateral ties with Romania.
“Romania is an important country in Pakistan’s desire for reaching to the European Union and its market,” he said during a meeting with Ambassador of Romania, Emillion Ion who called on him in Parliament House.
The Speaker said that Pakistan-Romania relations are based on mutual goodwill and understanding as well as converging views on important global issues.
The formations of Pakistan Rumanian Friendship Association (PRFA) and Pakistan Romania Business Council (PRC) are significant step forward in cementing bilateral relations, he said.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that the current level of trade is still far from reaching its true potential urged the need for having greater engagement between business communities of both countries.
Underlining the need for strengthening bilateral parliamentary engagements, he said, promotion of people to people contact between the two countries.
Ambassador of Romania appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in reaching out to Romania and assured cooperation in diverse sectors and admired Pakistan’s recent economic growth and its progress towards strengthening democracy.
He said that Pakistan has greatest contribution in fighting the war against terrorism and has rendered huge sacrifices for the global peace and security.
He assured that Romania will extend full cooperation to Pakistan on various multilateral forums.
He underlined the need for frequent exchanges of Parliamentary delegations for promotion of greater cooperation between the two countries.
He conveyed good wishes of Rumanian Speaker and invitation to Speaker National Assembly to visit Romania.
