ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Poultry Association Chairman Ahmad Waseem has inaugurated its central office in the federal capital.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the PPA chief said that the poultry industry, which already has become the 2nd largest after textiles, has gained pivotal position in country’s economy and it is further strengthening and supporting other industries.
Waseem said that after a struggle of almost a decade PPA has managed to have its own office in Islamabad. He said that foreign investment is coming in the poultry sector and Norway, Belgium, France and other countries are investing in this sector. He said that government should also take care of poultry industry and help farmers grow their business in a good manner.
Dr Mustafa Kamal, senior member of PPA, said that USA has shown commitment to invest more in the poultry sector. He claimed that in many countries chicken’s per capita consumption is above 40 kg but in Pakistan we have only 6-7kg/person.
