Pakistan Railways leases out 89.204 acres agricultural, 1.339 acres commercial land

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has leased out 90.543 acres land in Hyderabad. The purpose of leasing is to generate more revenue for the department.
The leased land was being used for agricultural and commercial purposes. The leased out included 89.204 acres agriculture and 1.339 acres commercial.
Latest land reclamation and evaluation policy would further enhance to improve the system of Pakistan Railways, the official added.
He said that Pakistan Railways has started a campaign to retrieve land from land grabbers as part of its campaign to eradicate corruption and ensure good governance in the department.
“Efforts are underway to retrieve the remaining encroached land from the illegal occupants and a campaign in this regard is going on,” he added.
He said that department is also engaged in devising a mechanism for future according to which high value land would be leased through transparent manner to generate maximum revenues.
