ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has announced to run 10 special trains on Eidul Fitr to facilitate people to celebrate the festival with their dear ones in home towns.
A Railway Ministry official told APP here on Wednesday that trains were likely to run from Quetta, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Peshawar, which would also enable the department to earn extra income. The special train operation would start on July 3, he added.
Last year, the official said, Pakistan Railways had run some 23 Eid special trains to accommodate maximum number of passengers, who belonged to far-flung areas.
“Pakistan Railways has taken several steps to facilitate the passengers as it is a cheaper mode of transportation for the general public,” the official added.
