Pakistan regains confidence of international financial institutions, Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister says Pakistan has successfully regained the confidence of international financial institutions.

Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar says the government has revived the national economy with concerted efforts and reforms.

Talking to a delegation of Albaraka Islamic Bank in Islamabad, he said Pakistan has regained the confidence of international financial institutions.

The Minister briefed the delegation about the government’s efforts for growth of Islamic Banking in the country.

He said there would be a gradual progression from conventional banking to Islamic banking in Pakistan.

Ishaq Dar especially mentioned launching of Sukook Bond in November last year describing it a great success.

On his part, Chairman Albaraka Islamic Bank Khalid Rashid Alzayani said all Islamic Banks desire to have their financial operations in Pakistan as they were encouraged by its tremendous economic turnaround.

He said the Bank already had an exposure of fifty million dollars to Pakistan.
