Pakistan registers 45pc increase in imports from India

LAHORE: Pakistan has witnessed a 45 percent increase in imports from India during the month of September 2024.

During September 2024, Pakistan imported goods from India involving an amount of $280 million, while $193 million goods were imported during the same month of previous fiscal year 2023.

Souring said imports from India continue upward trend during two months in a row of current fiscal year 2024.

Pakistan also registered five percent increase in imports from India during the month of August 2024.

Sources further revealed that from January 2024 to March 2024 and from February 2023 to May 2023 imports from India increased.

Pakistan suspended trade with India in August 2019 but after some time Pakistan relaxed some trade activities with India.

Pakistan allowed imports of all life-savings drugs from India.
