Pakistan, Russia first trial freight train service in March 2025

LAHORE: Federal Energy Minister Owais Leghari has announced that Pakistan and Russia will commence a trial freight train service in March, signaling a strengthening of economic and political ties between the two nations.

Speaking on the evolving bilateral relations, the minister emphasized that Pakistan’s engagement with Russia is driven by national interests and is not influenced by external pressures. “Our relationship with Russia is for Pakistan’s benefit and is not dictated by anyone,” he stated.
