ISLAMABAD: AuVitronics Limited, is set to export a car part to Toyota Motor Vietnam Co, Ltd. (TMV), making it a member of Toyota’s global supply chain.

The move comes after Indus Motor Company (IMC) requested Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) to let AuVitronics Limited supply absorber bumpers to TMV since TMV is adopting the same Toyota Corolla model that is sold in Pakistan.

IMC along with the local supplier reduced the development lead time to half in order to meet the TMV’s tough timelines .

“IMC has been striving for the development of the auto sector for the last thirty years. We have fulfilled our commitment to the country and promoted the auto and engineering industry in Pakistan and today we are achieving new successes,” said IMC Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ali Asghar Jamali.

He added that now as part of the global supply chain of Toyota, IMC will further develop the industrial base of the country and that IMC has already helped local vendors sign around 30 technical assistance agreements with foreign companies.

He also added that consistency in government policies can help companies achieve long term export objectives.

TMC is one of the largest automobile manufacturers worldwide having a supply chain that is spread throughout the world. The company follows a lean production philosophy called Toyota Production Systems (TPS) which over the years has also been adopted widely throughout its supply chain.
