Pakistani handmade carpets appreciated at Xining Exhibition in China

LAHORE: Pakistani handmade carpets were highly appreciated by the international investors at Xining International Carpet Exhibition 2015 held on June 25-29 in Qinghai.

Punjab Industries Minister Chaudhry Shafique led a team along with PCMEA Senior Vice Chairman Qamar Zia and former chairman Major (r) Akhtar Nazir in Qinghai.

The minister said that Xining international Carpet Exhibition would help the Pakistani carpet industry to enhance its competitiveness and tap the future market of China. He said that successful participation of Pakistani exhibitors in Xining international Carpet Exhibition would provide an opportunity to our local industry to explore opportunities of joint ventures with foreign counterparts for encouraging economic activities between the two nations.

In this mega event, Qamar Zia received best organisation award on behalf of the PCMEA. Akhtar, who has been working to strengthen Pak-China trade ties, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Akhtar observed that he has succeeded to get preferential policy for Pakistani exhibitors in that show by the Chinese authorities. Highlighting this auspicious occasion, he said that it was great opportunity for Pakistani participants to take advantage of this event by getting maximum share of Chinese markets to expand the trade volume with China.
