ISLAMABAD: The fate wing of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), in collaboration with the British Department for International Development (DFID), has conducted a survey about tax trends in Pakistan. The survey shows that the public and business community are not willing to pay taxes and are afraid of filing tax returns.

“People are afraid that they will be trapped for the whole of their lives once they had filed the tax return,” report stated. Public have no trust in the FBR and other tax collecting agencies as they think officials of these institutions will manipulate them even after filing their due taxes. Therefore, people try to hide their income and property details.
