KARACHI: Pakistan’s trade deficit reached $14.63 billion during the first four months of the fiscal year 2026-27, as imports exceeded $26 billion against exports of $11.44 billion, according to official documents.
The figures show that imports continued to outpace exports, widening the country’s trade gap between July and October.
In October alone, Pakistan recorded imports exceeding $7 billion, while exports stood at $2.94 billion, resulting in a monthly trade deficit of $4.07 billion.
Meanwhile, textile exports reached $6.86 billion during the first four months of the fiscal year, remaining a major contributor to the country’s export earnings.
Monthly textile exports stood at $1.83 billion in July before declining to $1.59 billion in August. The sector recorded exports worth $1.70 billion in September, followed by $1.72 billion in October.
The figures highlight the gap between Pakistan’s import bill and export earnings during the opening months of the current fiscal year.
