PBIF for providing equitable investment opportunities for local investors

ISLAMABAD: Business community here on Saturday urged the government for providing equitable investment opportunities for local investor in order to promote and develop trade and investment activities for rapid socio-economic uplift of the country.

In a statement, President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum (PBIF) Mian Zahid Hussain urged the government to ensure maintaining transparency in mega projects, besides ensuring fair and equitable treatment to local as well as for foreign investors.

He said that encouraging treatment with local as well as foreign investors in the long run will result in expanded local industrial production, more jobs creation and additional revenue generation for initiating more developmental projects for improving the living standard in the country.

He said that unbiased and even-handed treatment will also help the government win the trust of local and foreign business community, adding that the trust of local and foreign private sector is necessary to make these projects successful and more beneficial for the general public.

He said that transparency will not only help investors to take critical and timely decisions but it will also improve the image of the country while unnecessary confidentiality and non-disclosure can damage the projects.
