PBIT, Qiangdao Beureau of Commerce sign MoU to enhance economic ties

LAHORE: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT) and Qingdao Municipal Government China to formalize the economic ties here on Saturday.

PBIT CEO Mohammad Ilyas Ghauri and Vice Director of Qiangdao Beureau of Commerce, Chunyu Xianli signed the MoU, when a Qingdao Municipal Government delegation led by Liu Mingjun, Vice Mayor of Qingdao Municipal Government visit the Punjab capital, said the Board’s spokesman.

The aim of this MoU, he added, was to formalize the economic ties as well as to set a mutually acceptable roadmap to work collaboratively on the potential projects in various sectors.

He said, the salient features of the MoU were to share information relating to trade and investment on regular basis and provision of assistance and convenience on various activities such as mutual visits, relative expos, seminars and project negotiations.

To undertake actions to help each other in bilateral investment in advanced industries including energy saving, circular economy, equipment manufacturing, port logistics and education are other highlights.

Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, the PBIT Chairman Abdul Basit, TEVTA Chairman Sheheryar Baksh, Lahore DCO and other officers concerned attended the ceremony.
