 PCA detects tax evasion of Rs 8m by M/s Kharan Chemicals

KARACHI: Directorate of Post Clearence Audit (PCA) has detected the tax evasion of Rs 8 million and sent a report to the adjudication.

Sources told Customs Today that M/s Kharan Chemicals was involved in the tax evasion of Rs 8 million and the owner of company misused the SRO 556. During the February 2015 to December, 2015 the said company passed 20 consignments in the wake of SRO 556 from Post Qasim Preventive Collectorate.

During the said duration the company got 8 percent discount on tax duty in the wake of SRO 556 while the department has already mentioned its discount would not be available on Chemicals consignments. It revealed during the audit of the said company its misused the SRO 556 and involved in tax evasion of Rs 8 million. Directorate of Post Clearance Order make a report on the misused of SRO 556 and sent to Adjudication concerned. Customs sources told that its decision will be expected in next week.
