Replying to a query, the sources said that the authorities concerned asked to upgrade entire data of cases from the year 2009, adding that around 4,500 tax evasion cases of different nature have been made by the authorities concerned of the PCA during the six years – from 2009 to 2015.

“The process of switching entire data of those aforementioned years is indeed an uphill task. The support of the PCA director to his staff regarding accomplishing this task is commendable,” the sources added.

Responding to another query, the sources revealed that the authorities concerned would complete the entire task in a month or so; just before the end of the current fiscal year.

It is pertinent to mention here that the authorities concerned of the Directorate of Post-Clearance Audit and Directorate of Reforms and Automation have decided to provide online (automated) access to the Directorate of PCA in order to carry out its work efficiently.

Later, a meeting in this regard was held at the office of the director of Reforms and Automation in which PCA Director General Junaid Akram and other authorities concerned participated.

In the meeting, it was decided that the Directorate of Reforms and Automation would formulate a PCA-module through which all details of cases formed by the directorate would be transferred from manual to automation in order to enhance the performance of the directorate and improve revenue recovery through automated system installed at the PCA Directorate.
