KARACHI: Pakistan Chemicals & Dyes Merchants Association (PCDMA) has urged Federal Board of Revenue to end discrimination among commercial importers for audit through random computer balloting.
PCDMA Chairman Muhammad Haroon Nisar Numberdar, addressing the 41st annual general body meeting, said that commercial importers had always been struggling for smooth production activities through supplying without interest raw materials to industries. He censured FBR for selecting certain importers during recent computer balloting and said that 15pc balloting for audit must be reversed as commercial importers always paid tax at import stage.
Haroon Nisar lamented that guideline prices were only implemented for the traders of Karachi. Pointing out the challenges faced by the businessmen, he said that poor law & order situation, tax policies and high mark-up rates were the main hurdles in economic progress of the country.
