WASHINGTON: PD Ports has strengthened its position to enter the next phase of its investment plans with the announcement of two new appointments. Former shipping agent Keith Russell and journalist Lucy Richardson have joined the major North-East employer based at its headquarters in Middlesbrough. As Business Development Manager, Keith brings to the role a wealth of commercial experience and an in-depth knowledge of operations on the River Tees and their growth potential.

He worked at Graypen Shipping for almost 12 years, joining as a trainee agent and working his way up to general manager for the North-East. He is now using his skills to meet the needs of existing customers as well as identifying new markets and opportunities. He said: “We are looking at several areas where we can focus our growth.  I have a good all round knowledge of how the Port works in real terms and I’m looking forward to helping the business develop further in future.”
